How fees work

How paying works, in the order most patients ask.

  • Insurance we work with

We are in network with some plans and out of network with others, and which is which depends on yours. We check before your first visit and tell you what we find. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

    • PPO plans: we check your benefits first

    • DHMO plans: we are not in network

    • Medicaid and CHIP: not enrolled

  • If you pay yourself

If you don't have insurance, you pay at the visit, and you know the fee first, in writing. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

    • Pay at the visit

    • A written estimate, step by step

    • Third-party financing, set by the lender

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After every visit we give you an itemized receipt with the procedure codes. If your plan reimburses a dentist outside its network, send the receipt in. The plan decides what it pays.

    • Itemized, every visit

    • Procedure codes included

  • An estimate in advance

You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you are paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect and its fee, so you can take it home and decide.

    • Written, before treatment

    • Each step and its fee

    • Take it home before you decide

  • Checking your benefits

We check your dental benefits before your first visit and call you with what we find: your plan's yearly limit, any waiting periods and what it says it pays for the work we expect. A plan's answer is an estimate, not a promise of payment.

    • Done before your first visit

    • We call you with the result

  • What the first visit includes

About an hour: a talk about what brings you in, a cleaning when it is due, an exam by Dr. Kimbrough, X-rays only if she needs them, and a written estimate before any treatment. Fill in your health history on our private portal, not by email or in the contact form.

    • A talk, a cleaning, an exam

    • X-rays only if needed

    • Health history on the portal

What a written estimate lists

For one implant, the estimate is a short list. Each line has its fee beside it.

  • The exam and scan

The visit, the X-rays or 3D scan and the time to go through what they show.

  • The implant

The post placed in the jaw, and the visit to place it.

  • The crown

The impression or scan, the lab's part and the visit to fit it.

  • The follow-up visits

Checks while it heals and after the crown is fitted.

Questions about paying

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP. If you have either, we are glad to give you a written estimate and a receipt, and to tell you who in the area does take it.

Will my insurance pay for an implant?

Some plans pay part of an implant and many don't. We check your plan before your first visit and tell you what we find.

Can I pay in parts?

Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender, and we give you the lender's own information to read.

Ask for the estimate first

Send a request and tell us what you're asking about. We will explain the fees before you book.
